What a field crew app does on a construction site, and the one Autotelic's crews use today: shown for honesty, never offered to install.

Internal

Back to the assembly

A field or crew app exists to solve a narrow problem: give the people actually doing the work a fast way to see what's assigned to them today, report progress or a problem from the site, and get a message to the office without a phone call that interrupts the work. The best version of this is boring on purpose — quick to open, quick to log into, and built around the small number of things a crew actually needs mid-task rather than a full office system shrunk onto a phone screen. It also creates a record — who was assigned what, and when it was marked done — that protects both the crew and the client if a question comes up later.

Unlike a client-facing tool, a crew app usually isn't something a prospective client should be able to install or explore themselves — it's a work tool for people already on payroll, and showing how it works honestly is different from making it public. The value to a prospective client isn't using the tool — it's trusting that the work is tracked at all.

Autotelic's crew cockpit app runs on iPhone and Apple Watch, currently in testing, with a short list of tabs — Today's assignments, Messages, a Pipeline view, My Work, and an Inbox — and a login by SMS code instead of a remembered password. A companion field portal handles draft approvals from the field. Because this tool is for Autotelic's own crews, it is shown here for honesty about how the work gets managed on site, but it is never linked as something to install.

The same crew app covers every project type once it reaches the build phase — an ADU, a home remodel, a new build, a commercial tenant finish or a venue — and closing out on site is what hands a project back to the front desk for anything that comes up afterward.

What it does

  • A crew cockpit app runs on iPhone and Apple Watch, currently in testing.
  • It covers Today's assignments, Messages, a Pipeline view, My Work, and an Inbox.
  • Login happens by SMS code, not a remembered password.
  • A companion field portal handles draft approvals submitted from the field.
  • It is shown here for honesty about how work gets managed on site — it is never linked as something to install.

What it sees

No replay is published for this module yet.

What it replaced

Old phase: Delivery

You get keys to a space that already works.

Today close-out runs through the crew cockpit app, and the loop hands back to the front desk instead of ending at a folder of documents.

Old phase: Post-Occupancy

We stay after the ribbon.

Today warranty and follow-up start the same way every other contact does — through the front desk — rather than a separate post-occupancy phase.

Proof

No proof is published for this module yet.

Trades the crews build

The crew app gives each crew its day's assignments on site. These are the trades those crews build, by phase of the work.

Questions

Can I download the crew app?

No — it's a work tool for Autotelic's own crews, shown here for honesty about how work is managed on site, not offered as something to install.

How do crew members log in?

By an SMS code, rather than a remembered password.

What happens after a crew closes out on site?

The project hands back to the front desk for anything that comes up afterward, like a warranty question.
