Fire pathways and historic roofs
Denver CPD PV drawing guidance follows IRC pathway rules: typically two 36-inch roof-edge-to-ridge paths on sloped dwellings, with ridge setbacks of 18 or 36 inches depending on how much of the roof the array covers. Landmark properties and historic districts need a Landmark Certificate of Appropriateness before panels go on the roof.

Permits and who coordinates the work
City and County of Denver Community Planning and Development requires an electrical permit for solar. Many single-family and duplex projects, including storage and related panel upgrades, can use SolarAPP+ and then upload the confirmation in e-permits as a quick permit. Commercial and multifamily arrays still go through electrical plan review, and sometimes structural review. Utility interconnection is a separate utility process. Colorado DORA regulates electrical licensing. Cities and counties license general contractors. Colorado has no statewide general contractor license.
